By now, you’ve probably seen poke works and fob poke recipes.
The poke cake, for example, is one of those recipes you can whip up at home and then whip up the fob cake at the office or at a party, too.
I’ve been eating poke cakes since I was a kid, but I was always curious as to what would happen when you put it all together.
And as you can see in this recipe, it’s been very easy to whip up.
Here’s what you need to make the poke cake: 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 1 cup flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup chocolate chips (or chocolate chips plus 1/4 cup cocoa powder)1 egg 1 cup milk (or milk plus 1 tablespoon milk)To make the fad cake:1.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the butter, sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder.
Cook, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes.2.
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and milk until well blended.
Add cocoa powder and mix well.3.
Slowly add the melted butter mixture to the bowl of dry ingredients and whisk until the batter is smooth.4.
Divide the batter between 8 baking trays and cover them with foil.5.
Bake until the cake is firm and springs back when you press a toothpick against it, about 30 minutes.
You can use a tooth pick, but a sharp one works well.
You’ll want to keep checking to make sure you don’t get cake that’s too brown.6.
Cool the fobs in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, then remove them and let cool completely before serving.
This recipe makes about 4 servings.
It’s the perfect way to get your favorite fad or treat out for a birthday, holiday, party or even just a treat to bring home.
You could even make the cake for a special occasion!
