The 2018 World Cup final has been postponed for three weeks as the FIFA Executive Committee has voted to postpone the match from November 11 to November 15.
The vote was taken in Zurich, Switzerland.
The tournament’s organizers have said they would not consider postponing the match to avoid any potential impact on the ongoing World Cup tournament in Canada and will instead wait until FIFA approves the postponement.
It is not clear if the postponing of the match will lead to any financial ramifications or whether it will be cancelled.
The FIFA Executive committee has the power to make the decision, but it will need the approval of FIFA’s ethics committee.
There have been no official comments on the decision on the postponements.
The 2018 World Championship in France and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar have already been postponed and it is expected that the World Cup will be played on December 7.
